Students Support and Philanthropy Program

IKARE Ltd (pronounced “I care”) is a UK registered charity operating according to the venture philanthropy principles. It works closely with its investees, providing not only tailored financial but also non-financial support and access to networks. Taking a multi-year view IKARE aims to strengthen the capacity of its investees so they in turn can deliver more social impact. Having since 2006 been actively involved in the Stamp Out Sleeping sickness initiative in Uganda, providing start-up financing to a number of young veterinarians, IKARE has first-hand experience of addressing the root causes of poverty and thus the necessity of an One Health approach as well as access to accurate data for informed decision making.
IKARE’s main donor is IK Investment Partners, an European private equity group.

Research Hub and Data Centre Africa

The Students Support and Philanthropy Program runs a fully-fledged research department licensed as the Research Hub and Data Centre Africa to carry out both local and international research projects to ease and increase income for the NGO. As a business subsidy, the RHDCA operates somewhat independently on a partnership basis.
In addition to doing indoor research for the Students Support and Philanthropy Program projects, the company acts as a strong research assistant to many research projects offering upto date research data collection, analysis and reporting. It also offers trainings to students to be able to professionally execute their research based projects and as well build skills in the same.
